Capcom declaró en la publicación sus resultados financieros del pasado mes, que para el 31 de marzo de 2016 prevé vender 2’5 millones de copias de un «título relacionado con Monster Hunter»  para Nintendo 3DS. En un principio la opinión general apuntó a Monster Hunter Stories (único juego anunciado en aquel entonces para la portátil de Nintendo), pero tras el anuncio de la semana pasada del nuevo Monster Hunter X la cosa cambia.
