El departamento de comunicación de Nintendo ha hecho llegar al gran público los propósitos de la compañía para su más reciente consola de sobremesa, Wii U, durante este año 2014. Intenciones entre las que se encuentra una consistente mejoría en cuanto a número y calidad de los juegos disponibles, una mayor implicación del Gamepad con el software de entretenimiento, actualizaciones de sistema, etc. Propósitos cuyo objetivo es, no solo agradar a los actuales poseedores de Wii U si no también captar la atención de actuales y futuros Nintenderos para que se hagan con la consola.
